Acts 2:42: "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." NIV
Through the gift of The Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost not only did God bless us with giftings and the empowerment of The Holy Spirit God supernaturally created the church as we know it. The church is mean't to be a family, to do life together.
That is exactly what we strive to do here at Encounter. We want to follow the Church of Acts and devote ourselves to the teaching of God's Word together, to fellowship together, and of course breaking bread together. We observe the Lord's Supper together but also just love to eat together!
So when we say the second part of our vision and mission is to encounter people, we mean here at Encounter Church we pray you meet authentic people who love God and love one another. We want to not only be a gathering of Christians but a gathering of family!
1 Corinthians 1:10: "I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought." NIV
We want to be completely unified with one another, we know God has called us to be connected and to truly care about one another! Here at Encounter we are doing everything we can to culivate a culture of care and true connection.
